The Washton Group is a unique private practice offering individually-tailored treatment for substance use and other behavioral health problems.
We provide a wide range of clinical services including individual therapy, group therapy, and our unique DRINK SMARTLY PROGRAM. This is an alcohol moderation and harm reduction program for people who want to reduce their alcohol consumption to safer levels to prevent negative consequences and improve their overall health. It is ideal for problem drinkers who are not physically addicted to alcohol including those in the early stages of acknowledging that their drinking is causing problems.
As psychologists, we have the clinical expertise to diagnose and treat the full spectrum of substance use issues ranging from problematic use to full-blown addiction as well as behavioral health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, and relationship difficulties.
We treat all types of substance use problems including those involving alcohol, opioids, cocaine, sedatives, marijuana, and/or other drugs. We work with clients whose goal is total abstinence from all addictive substances and those seeking to reduce or eliminate the risk of harmful consequences of drinking rather than give it up completely.
We are a specialized private practice, not an addiction treatment program or clinic. We offer flexible, individualized care– not one size fits all. We do not impose labels on our clients or pressure them to accept goals they are not ready to embrace. Cultivating a positive therapeutic relationship with each and every client is at the heart of what we do and what gives us the ability to motivate and empower them to change.
We welcome opportunities to coordinate with outside practitioners whose patients come here for specialized treatment to addresses substance use and related issues. Patients already receiving therapy and/or medication from other practitioners are encouraged to continue with those practitioners while coming here for supplemental treatment. Many patients find that the focused treatment we provide accelerates and deepens their therapeutic progress in outside therapy as they gain new perspectives and find new solutions that were previously obscured by their alcohol or drug use.
