The Washton Group is a unique private practice offering individually tailored treatment for substance use and other behavioral health problems.
We treat high-functioning adults as well as college students and young adults. We provide a wide range of clinical services including individual therapy, group therapy, and our unique DRINK SMARTLY PROGRAM, a 12-week education and skills-training seminar for functional adults who want to reduce their alcohol consumption to safer levels and/or take a break from drinking to prevent harmful consequences and improve their overall health. This program is ideal for problem drinkers who are not dependent on alcohol, including those in the early stages of acknowledging that their drinking may be a problem.
As psychologists, we have the clinical expertise to diagnose and treat the full spectrum of substance use issues ranging from problematic use to dependence as well as behavioral health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, and relationship difficulties.
We offer flexible, individualized care– not one size fits all. We do not impose labels on our clients or pressure them to accept goals they are not ready to embrace. Cultivating a positive therapeutic relationship with our clients is at the heart of what we do and what gives us the ability to motivate and empower them to change.
We treat all types of substance use problems, ranging from problematic use to addiction, for individuals who are using alcohol, opioids, cocaine, marijuana, and/or other drugs. We work with clients who want to pursue abstinence as their goal and those seeking to reduce or eliminate the risk of harmful consequences rather than stop completely.
We welcome opportunities to work collaboratively with outside practitioners whose patients come here for specialized services that focus more specifically on substance use issues. Patients already receiving therapy and/or medication from outside practitioners are encouraged to continue seeing those practitioners while coming here for supplemental treatment. Many patients find that the focused treatment we provide accelerates and deepens their therapeutic progress in outside therapy as they gain new perspectives and find new solutions that were previously obscured by their alcohol or drug use.
